Key Activities realized on 21th January 2026
Here are key activities realized in Gisagara on the date 0f January 21th 2026:
1. Education Meeting on English Language Curriculum
A meeting was held in the conference hall of Gisagara ARENA on the changes in the English language curriculum for the lower primary level (P1–P3). The meeting was organized in collaboration between the District, REB, and the LIFT project (Learning and Inclusion for Transformation).
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs and was attended by school head teachers, as well as education officers from the Sectors and the District. The Vice Mayor urged school leaders to pay special attention to hygiene and sanitation in all areas of the schools under their responsibility.
2. Campaign on Hygiene and sanitation:
In collaboration with the District and World Vision Rwanda, an awareness campaign titled “End Child Malnutrition Now” was conducted at Gisagara Market in Ndora Sector through a drama performance by Itorero Urunana.

The campaign aimed to combat malnutrition and stunting among children under five years of age. The key messages focused on promoting good hygiene and ensuring special care for children, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life.
The Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs urged participants to adopt a culture of hygiene in all settings and to give proper care to children from pregnancy, at birth, by enrolling them in nearby Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers on time, and later in school once they reach the appropriate age.
3. Visit of Churches
In collaboration with the District leadership and security organs, a visit was conducted to some closed churches that had requested an inspection to assess whether they meet the required standards so that they can be authorized to reopen in due time. These churches are located in the Sectors of Kansi, Kibilizi, Muganza, and Mukindo.
