Key Activities realized in Gisagara District on January 23rd 2026
Here are some key activities realized in Gisagara District on 23rd January 2026.
1. The delegation of Senators from the Parliament of Rwanda, led by Hon. Alvera Mukabaramba and accompanied by Hon. Bideri John Bonds continued their visit to Gisagara District to assess livestock farming activities, with a focus on the availability of sufficient, high-quality animal feed.


Today, they met and held talks with District leaders and representatives of various livestock stakeholder groups from all sectors, including:
- Sector livestock officers
- Livestock extension officers
- Animal feed traders
- Large-scale livestock farmers raising different types of animals, representing their peers.
We would like to recall that yesterday they visited fish ponds in Kigembe Sector, paid a visit to an animal feed trader in Ndora Sector, and held in-depth discussions with residents, particularly livestock farmers from Nkunamo Village in Nyakibungo Cell, Gishubi Sector, focusing on how they access feed for their animals.

2. The visitors who are in a joint program with the District to explore opportunities in inclusive tourism development (Territorial Tourism) continued their visit across the District.
On Day 2, the historical site visits continued in Mukindo and Kansi Sectors, where they toured Makwaza Hill and the caves that were used by King Ruganzu II Ndori as he prepared for the battle against King Nyaruzi of Haramanga in Burundi.
In the afternoon, they visited the Inyambo cattle–based tourism site in Kansi Sector, located on Nyange Hill.
3. A training session was held at Ndora sector's meeting room today, focusing on protecting children's rights and raising awareness about the special needs of people with disabilities. The event was organized by REWU and World Vision, bringing together stakeholders involved in child protection and safeguarding in the sector.
4. In Gisagara District, the Umurenge Kagame Cup (UKC) 2026 continued with quarterfinal matches, and the following results were realized:
A. Men’s Teams
Mamba 2–1 Nyanza
Mugombwa 1–1 Muganza (Mugombwa won 5–4 on penalties)
Musha 6–0 Kibilizi
B. Women’s Teams
Mamba 1–0 Nyanza
Gishubi 3–2 Mukindo
Kigembe 0–0 Save (Kigembe won 2–1 on penalties)
The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, 28/01/2026.
5. Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development attended a meeting in Kigli, steering committee of LDCF IV or Amayaga II with REMA and UNDP.
