Key Activities Carried Out as on October 30th 2026

1. This afternoon, a handover ceremony is taking place at Gisagara District between the outgoing District Executive Committee and the District Executive Secretary, Carine Uwamahoro,who will remain in charge of the District in acting while waiting for a new District Executive Committee.

2. A delegation of Members of Parliament from the Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Forum, led by Hon. UWIZEYE Marie Thérèse, visited Gisagara District as part of an awareness campaign aimed at preventing and combating corruption in the private sector.

Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the District Mayor and held a meeting with representatives of the private sector at both District and Sector levels.

3. Today, in partnership with AEE Rwanda, as part of the follow-up on achievements under the GEWEP II Project supported by AEE Rwanda, 20 young people (15 girls and 5 boys), organized into project groups, received training and mobile phones worth FRW 500,000 each to support their businesses as mobile money agents. Each beneficiary also received additional start-up capital of FRW 432,000.

The beneficiaries were selected from households enrolled in the Graduation Programme aimed at helping vulnerable families move out of poverty. The total additional start-up capital provided amounted to FRW 8,640,000.
